Short Animated Movie
Background
After COVID, I, as a film student, wanted to make a movie to bring back the joy of togetherness. I started writing multiple plays to find the one that resonates with my perspective, then, after conducting visual research, my pre-production officially began. "Paw and Scissors" is my first animated movie that I am beyond proud of.
Challenge
Regarding my role as the animation director, producer, character designer, background designer, animator, and editor, the development of the project took around two years. I would use my home computer, my iPad, and my sketchbook to draw over 6000 frames by hand, then I would capture myself as the animation references. After the final development, I worked with a professional musician to design a unique music and sound for the movie.
International Recognition
Paw and Scissors have been selected to be presented at famous international festivals such as Lampa in Russia, LiftOff in USA, GLIFF in Indiana, Zinetxiki Zinemaldia in Spain, Urbanite in USA...
Character Design
The characters of the film are diverse, a sassy fish, an exhausted chicken, a hopeless romantic elephant, a shy dinasour and of course the main character, Daisy, the animal stylist, in introverted but whimsical person who enjoys making bold characters out of her customers.
