Bumper to Bumper
Background
Bumper to bumper is a university project made by our team concluded of four animation-directing students as our final semester project. Everything including screenplay, character design, background design, sound design, compositing, lighting, directing, and animating is done by our student group.
Challenge
We needed to conduct visual research to make a deep understanding of cars, city backgrounds, and human natural reactions to the accident. And also realizing body mechanics while driving and sudden movement
Screenplay
Bumper to bumper is a fast narration of the butterfly effect where a small incident on the road makes a disaster and every car gets involved in it
My Role & Scope
This project took four months to complete, and I was mostly in charge of directing, animating, and compositing the final plans.
Character Design
We designed all the passengers of the cars with their different characteristics, the process was both fun and challanging.
Car Design
By the combination of hypothetical user characteristics and the data from the user interview and research, I created the product persona
Car Design
We aimed to create cars that would match our character design style. In addition, every car reflects the personality if its passengers
Background Design
We needed vigorous angles of the city since all parts of the story happened in the town.
Final Scenes
Here you can see some final plans. (due to copy eight rule I am not able to upload the full version of the film)
Visual Research
Here is a part of the visual research process that we experienced to make a deep understanding of the shapes of the cars, streets, human natural body mechanics, and motions
